ARKU apprenticeships: successfully passed, three times!

In the ARKU world of apprenticeships, there are always talented individuals who stand out for their achievements. This year there are three apprentices. Maximilian Merkel and Valentin Dufner have moved into the limelight thanks to their top grades at school. As well as Tom Liebmann, who received the prize for his learning achievements from the Robert Schumann School in Baden-Baden.
ARKU apprenticeships: successfully passed, three times!

Maximilian Merkel, who completed his apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician, emphasized the importance of the practical experience he was able to gain during his apprenticeship at ARKU. "Planning, implementing and presenting projects myself... that was important to me during my apprenticeship. From service assignments to commissioning systems for customers - I had the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience," explained Merkel.

Practical training & awards

Valentin Dufner, who completed his apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic, also gained valuable experience at the Baden-Baden-based machine building company. "A lot of trust and responsibility is transferred from the apprenticeship management and colleagues. You work in a real working environment and do not just practice," explained Dufner. From assembling and disassembling machines to manufacturing components according to technical drawings and working on improvement measures - everything was included.

For example, Dufner worked on a test bench on which a new vacuum belt of a deburring machine was being evaluated. The aim was to deburr very small sheet metal parts reliably. He is now presenting this project to visitors from Germany and abroad.

Valentin and Maximilian are particularly proud of the project they carried out independently using the Microsoft HoloLens glasses to train new employees in the topic of safety. This project was awarded the safety prize by the Employer's Liability Insurance Association (BG).

Tom Liebmann, who completed his training as an industrial clerk, shares a similarly positive experience. For him, the integration into various departments was a particularly decisive factor. "As an apprentice at ARKU, you are fully integrated and given responsibility right from the start. The teamwork at ARKU was outstanding for me and played a key role in my decision making. Everyone helps everybody and there is an open atmosphere." Liebmann was particularly impressed by his time abroad at the ARKU subsidiary ARKU Inc. in Cincinnati, USA. There he engaged in the market launch campaign for a new deburring machine. In this role, he was tasked with acquiring new customers for these machines and was responsible for a mailing campaign. This gave him an insight into the American way of working and culture.

Overall, the experiences of Merkel, Dufner and Liebmann show that ARKU does not only offers high-quality apprenticeships. In addition, ARKU also offers an environment that promotes the personal and professional development of the apprentices and gives them the opportunity to fully develop their skills.

Since completing their apprenticeships, all three apprentices have established themselves at ARKU in the areas of purchasing, automation and assembly, where they can make full use of the skills and experience, they have acquired.
