ARKU trainees and management support the local forestry department

Over twenty years ago, the storm Lothar swept across Germany. Many power grids collapsed and rail connections failed. What is even more concerning, numerous trees were uprooted or damaged. During the reforestation, many employees of the forestry department attached protective tubes to the young trees.

Actually, these protective tubes should have dissolved by themselves after ten years. However, this did not happen and they were still there until July 2, 2022 when early in the morning, trainees, students and the management of ARKU Maschinenbau arrived. They had to be removed by hand, there was no other way. The team removed an estimated 1500 protective tubes from two large forest areas. By early noon, they finished removing the foreign objects from the natural environment. For the forestry department, this was a great help.

"We are happy that we can jointly support the Baden-Baden forestry department with projects like this," explains Chris Schottmüller, Manager of the ARKU trainees. "This helps nature, but also strengthens the team spirit within our company. Plus, it's a lot of fun on top of that!"
