Properly integrate artificial intelligence into the workplace

The transformations brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) specialists and managers must be trained at an early stage. The project "KI B³ - Bringing Artificial Intelligence into Vocational Education" aims to integrate the necessary competencies into apprenticeships and higher vocational education. Among other institutions, the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) is also involved.

On November 17th, the project was presented at an education conference in Karlsruhe. Dominik Golenia, who is learning the profession of mechatronics technician at ARKU Maschinenbau in Baden-Baden, was one of the participants. He is completing the theoretical part of his training at the Carl-Benz School in Gaggenau. This is where he will also be receiving an additional qualification in AI and machine learning as well. At the conference, Golenia took part in a panel discussion and contributed the trainees' perspectives.

"I will be able to use what I learn in this additional qualification in the future at ARKU Maschinenbau. I can also use it privately, for example, with a smart home," says Golenia. In this regard, he is pleased to be able to participate in this advanced training. "I simply like the topics and have read a lot about them before. I am very pleased that I will be able to apply them in the future," he reports enthusiastically.
