In Schopsdorf, ABP – Innovative Blechbearbeitung GmbH offers services for the entire metal processing spectrum from a single source. At the beginning in 2013, the company was simply a laser job shop offering laser cutting and bending amongst other processes. However, the goal of co-founder and managing director Marcel Wendt was always to successfully offer complete components in addition to contract manufacturing.
„For us, the FlatMaster® 55 precision leveler is a great addition, because we have many applications in the laser cutting and punched part sector.“

"We're involved in all the sectors that you might find around your house," says Wendt. The parts are just as diverse. The materials do not only include steel, but also stainless steel and aluminum with thicknesses from 1 to 15 millimeters.
There is also a straightening press with hydraulic rams or bending machines in the production halls. However, a precision leveler with a continuous throughput conveyor system is much efficient for Wendt. In some cases, employees have even straightened materials by using flame before. On the contrary, this procedure takes a lot of time and skill.
Since May 2020, a FlatMaster® 55 leveling machine from ARKU has been added to the inventory of processing equipment. "It's a great addition for us, because we have many applications in the laser cutting and punched part sectors," Wendt explains. Workpieces such as perforated sheets can be leveled with extreme accuracy thanks to the machine.
Meanwhile, the leveling machine has its permanent place in the work process flow. "It makes our daily work much easier," Wendt explains. On the one hand, this concerns stamped parts; on the other hand, there were previously problems with stresses being released in the material when deburring and grinding stainless steel with a thickness of 3 to 5 millimeters.
For Wendt, the FlatMaster® is a valuable addition. "This allows us to take on more difficult orders," he says, explaining: "We are proud of what we can do on our own – regardless of specific suppliers. This now also includes leveling."
