Whether it's machine components weighing tons, steel halls or other steel structures - "we do almost everything that has to do with steel and is a bit heavier and bigger," says Felix Heimann. Together with his brother Christian and his father Norbert Heimann, he runs the business of Heimann GmbH & Co. KG in Olbernhau, Saxony.
„We save significantly on time and labor with the FlatMaster®.“
– Felix Heimann, Managing Director at Heimann GmbH & Co. KG
The steel construction business unit grew strongly. Because production was reaching capacity limits and the quality in sheet metal processing was to increase, it was necessary to optimize it. Employees still had to level their parts with a straightening press. Even for deburring, there was only an older, single-sided machine.
In addition, throughput has increased. Previously, three workers were needed to level 2700 tons of sheet metal per year. Now it's 3500 tons, and the process requires only one and a half workers. In addition, the work is more ergonomic than with the straightening press.
Overall, the machines are well utilized. However, because the straightening processes are fast compared to other work steps, there is still capacity available on the FlatMaster®. Thus, the Olbernhauer now also offer pure cut-to-size and contract straightening. In addition, they can produce welded assemblies with tighter tolerances.
